My blog's previous title was "ENG 3I-J" (Also known as ENG 3I&J, ENG3I-J, ENG3I&J, or just simply "ENG3I." That of course stood for "Egao No Genki's Ideas, Innovations, and Inventions Journal.)
However, I knew from the get-go that the old title was not memorable for too many people.
I had a serendipitious moment one night when I found Jason Carter on Facebook. He was an LDS Missionary serving in Nagasaki, where I studied abroad for four months last year. Elder Carter replaced Elder Stephen Reed Matheson when his time was up and he had to return home to Chula Vista, CA. I got to know Carter for a while, and then, without any advanced notice, he disappeared, to Okinawa.
When I found Elder Steve Tausinga one night, I searched for "Carter" through his list of friends, and found a Jason Carter who looked like the Elder I got to know. (I never learned his first name while in Japan.) I sent him a private message. The title was: "Are you..."
And the body was: "...Elder Carter from Nagasaki?"
His response: "BIG YES BOMB!!!!!!"
I thought that response was so freaking hilarious that I toyed with renaming my blog this phrase! It took me a month or two, but I have decided tonight! I hope to God that "BIG YES BOMB" is a far more memorable blog name than "ENG3I" ever was, and that it's hilarious enough for readers to keep coming back for more.
What do you think of the new name, you guys?
