Jan. 22, 1996
Dear Journal,
I'm lucky enough that I live on a hill. Shaun (Brooker) might
be dead by now because of mandatory flooding. It
might be a good possibility. I'm happy to have peace.
About blizzard of "96,"
(Retro note: I left 10 lines blank after I was about to write about the Blizzard of '96. I don't remember what I was going to write about, but maybe the fact that we got so much snow, and that I enjoyed going sledding down the hills on our army base, and how beautiful the snow made our base look.
My bully lived down the hill from my house on the DDRE Army Depot in New Cumberland, PA. He lived a few miles downhill, in a trailer in a neighboring town named Lewisberry. The Blizzard of 1996 dumped so much snow that when it warmed up, all that melt-water caused flooding in low-lying areas. I had a feeling that his trailer would be underwater, and that he would have therefore drowned. Alas, he was still alive and well when we went back to school.)
